Abstract
This study analyzes the improper deletion of player profiles on online gaming platforms and the impacts of this practice on users' personality rights. The research is based on the understanding that a player's digital profile is not merely a simple registration but rather a true extension of an individual's personality rights in cyberspace. The methodology employed consists of a literature review, with doctrinal and legislative analysis regarding the protection of fundamental rights in the digital environment, as well as the legal framework applicable to consumer relations in this sector. The study is structured around three main axes: (i) the characterization of electronic games as spaces for social interaction and digital identity formation; (ii) the deletion of profiles and its relation to personality rights; and (iii) the civil liability of gaming platforms in cases of abusive profile deletion. In conclusion, the arbitrary deletion of player profiles without proper justification and without respect for the right to adversarial proceedings and full defense constitutes a violation of personality rights and may give rise to the civil liability of gaming platforms, requiring appropriate compensation for the moral damages caused to the user.
