Abstract
Health professionals are at the forefront of health policies and actions, but not necessarily as managers or mentors of the service system, but as a workforce, dealing directly with users. In this position, they are vulnerable to attacks by patients and family members dissatisfied with some aspect related to care. The situation worsened with the pandemic caused by Covid-19, increasing the number of aggressions inside and outside the work environment. Considering that doctors, nurses and other professionals have the right to a safe work environment, this article proposes to analyze, from a hypothetical-deductive approach and analytical procedure method, the contracting party’s civil responsability to repair, punish and, mainly prevent acts that undermine medical dignity.
