Review of the book “Coronavírus e responsabilidade civil: impactos contratuais e extracontratuais” edited by Carlos Edison do Rêgo Monteiro Filho, Nelson Rosenvald and Roberta Densa (2020)

Abstract

The outbreak of the SARS-Cov-2 (also identified as Covid-19, or simply coronavirus) pandemic in 2020 has already become an unprecedented event in history, as its political, economic and social impacts have reached virtually all nations of the planet, triggering varied repercussions and, unfortunately, a very high number of fatalities. Still in the second half of March 2020, a union of efforts by jurists Carlos Edison do Rêgo Monteiro Filho, Nelson Rosenvald and Roberta Densa started an important undertaking: several fellow researchers were mobilized by the three creators and coordinators of the project that would turn out to become the work analyzed in this review. Each author, imbued with the necessary investigative impetus in these difficult times, when uncertainty still loomed over everyone, sought to shed light on challenging themes in the legal discipline of civil liability.
