Book review of “Responsabilidade civil e nascimento indesejado: fundamentos para a reparação da falha de métodos contraceptivos”, by Daniel Amaral Carnaúba (Forense; Método, 2021)

Abstract

Anyone who is working on a case – whether as a lawyer, prosecutor or judge – that involves the issue of civil liability for unwanted birth should read Daniel Amaral Carnaúba’s book, “Civil Liability and Unwanted Birth: grounds for repairing the fault of contraceptive methods”. The book is the result of his doctoral thesis, defended on April 15, 2016 at the USP Law School, before a panel composed of professors Teresa Ancona Lopez (President), Wanderley Fernandes (FGV SP), Rafael Peteffi da Silva ( UFSC), Claudio Luiz Bueno de Godoy (USP) and Otavio Luiz Rodrigues Jr. (USP). After the defense, the author considerably updated, deepened and expanded the work. And it is this enriched version that was published in 2021 by Forense and Method publishers, as part of the prestigious Professor Rubens Limongi França collection.
